Pokémon Go was one of, if not the, biggest trend of Summer 2016, which you probably already know unless you've been living under a rock. Millions of players were (and still are) strolling the streets on the hunt for their next Pokémon, hatching eggs, and fighting other players for control of the gyms.

Many players took it to a whole other level and started creating tutorials and tools aimed at helping players level up their characters in the most efficient way. In a similar vein, we created this Pokémon Go Candy calculator, which can help you figure out how many Pokémon you can evolve with a certain amount of candy.

How to use this Pokémon Go Candy calculator

In the first field, insert the number of candies required to evolve your Pokémon. This can range from 12 for the likes of Pidgey or Caterpie to even 400 for the famous Magikarp. A popular strategy for evolving your Pokémon suggests that you evolve as many 12-candy ones as possible. Why? For every Pokémon you evolve, you get 500 experience points. So, whether you spend 400 or 12 candies — you still get 500 points. So it makes a lot of sense to go for the least demanding ones.

In the next field, insert the number of candies you have. Finally, in the third field, choose whether you'll be using a Lucky Egg on this occasion. A Lucky Egg is an item that you can find in the game that doubles your experience gain for half an hour (30 minutes). So, to get the most out of them, don't just evolve one or two Pokémon. Use them only once you have accumulated a significant number of Pokémons and candies. Once you're ready, use the egg, and you'll get 1,000 XP for each evolution. Hurry up because it won't last for long!
