How does the DnD money system work?
In DnD 5e, the money system uses a set of five coin denominations made from different metals to measure the value of goods and services. In order of least valuable to most valuable, these denominations are:
- Copper pieces (CP);
- Silver pieces (SP);
- Electrum pieces (EP);
- Gold pieces (GP); and
- Platinum pieces (PP).

How to use the DnD money conversion tool
The DnD money calculator has three modes of use:

Convert coins. This mode lets you see the value of one coin type converted into all other coin types. For example:
- DnD gold to silver: if you enter 3 GP, you’ll see its equivalent is 30 SP.
- DnD platinum to gold: for 4 PP, you can get 40 GP.
